Description: Since ABP 10.1, UpdateProfileDto.AppName is required on the backend. However, the stock PersonalSettingsComponent in @volo/abp.ng.account never includes appName in the PUT /api/account/my-profile request body. As a result, saving personal settings fails with a validation error for every user using the default Angular profile page.
Steps to reproduce: Start a stock ABP Commercial Angular project on 10.1 or later Log in and navigate to My Account → Personal Info Change any field and click Save Observe the request to PUT /api/account/my-profile — appName is absent from the body The backend returns a validation error
Expected behavior: The request includes appName: 'Angular' and the profile saves successfully.
Actual behavior: The request body omits appName, causing a backend validation failure.
Affected versions: 10.1, 10.2, ???
Workaround: We applied a patch to node_modules/@volo/abp.ng.account that adds appName: 'Angular' to the profileService.update() call in PersonalSettingsComponent.ngSubmit():
- this.profileService.update(profile).subscribe(res => {
+ this.profileService.update({ ...profile, appName: 'Angular' }).subscribe(res => {
Environment: ABP Commercial Angular @volo/abp.ng.account 10.2.1 .NET backend
