AI Agent in ABP Studio memory leak? #10668

Hi,

I'm having some issues with the AI Agent in ABP Studio.

It seems the longer the conversation runs the more unresponsive ABP Studio becomes. Even though I'm using a model with 262K context and its not getting to a point where it says the context is too large, I find that after about 30-45 mins of it running and making code changes it starts becoming unresponsive. Not just the AI Agent but the entire ABP Studio, clicking on GIT changes etc is fast on a new Agent session but then after a while clicking on anything starts takin 5+ seconds to respond making it barely usable.

Switching to a new Agent session makes ABP Studio instantly responsive again.

I have checked CPU and Ram usage during this time and the CPU is barely 20% used and the ram is less than 60% used.

Regards Raff

    • What you describe (whole ABP Studio UI gradually slowing down, then instantly becoming responsive when you start a new Agent session) is consistent with a session-growth/performance issue in the ABP Studio AI Agent UI/process, rather than your ABP solution, CPU, or system RAM limits. The “262K model context” limit is not a reliable indicator here, because the slowdown can be caused by the Studio/Agent keeping a large in-memory conversation/work log, diffs, indexed context, or UI rendering state over time.

    • Recommended actions / workarounds

      1. Update ABP Studio to the latest version available to you (these kinds of issues are typically fixed in Studio releases, not in your ABP Framework NuGet version).
      2. Keep Agent sessions shorter (your current workaround of starting a new Agent session is valid and is the best immediate mitigation).
      3. If you can reproduce reliably, collect Studio logs and send them to ABP support (this is the most effective way for the team to confirm whether it’s a memory/perf leak and fix it).
    • Check Studio release notes and update

      • ABP Studio has ongoing fixes in release notes (including stability/memory/crash-related fixes in Solution Runner and AI-related fixes in earlier versions). Review and update accordingly:
        • https://abp.io/docs/10.2/studio/release-notes
        • https://abp.io/docs/10.1/studio/release-notes
        • https://abp.io/docs/10.0/studio/release-notes
    • If you need Volosoft to investigate this as a potential bug

      • Please contact the team and include: Studio version, OS, model/provider, approximate session length, steps to reproduce, and Studio logs:

No verified source is available that confirms a specific “memory leak in AI Agent” root cause for your exact symptom; the best verified guidance is to update Studio, use shorter sessions as workaround, and provide logs to ABP support for investigation.

    Hi @raff

It is not related with memory leak as i see. It is related with a virtualization problem and we are going to fix it.
