The
Project target does not exist.error means Angular CLI can’t find a project nameddev-appin your workspace configuration (i.e.,angular.json). In ABP module solutions, you typically don’t runng serve dev-appdirectly; you run the workspace start script (orng servewith the correct project name).Do this instead:
- Go to the angular folder (workspace root where
angular.jsonis):
cd angular- Install packages:
yarn # or: npm install- Start the dev app using the workspace script:
yarn start # or: npm startIf you specifically want to use
ng serve <projectName>then openangular/angular.jsonand look under:projects: { ... }- Use the exact key there as
<projectName>. - In many cases, the dev app project name is not
dev-app(even if the folder isprojects/dev-app), song serve dev-appfails.
About “dev-app has only environment file”: In ABP module templates, the dev app is a lightweight host for module development; after installing dependencies and running via
yarn start, it should serve correctly. Also ensure you’ve adjusted:angular/projects/dev-app/src/environments/environment.tsto point to your running Host application URL.

Hello,
Thank you for the detailed description of the issue. The errors you are encountering are likely due to the modular template being added as a DDD module without being properly integrated into a host application, which is required for it to function correctly.
For more information, I recommend reviewing the following resources:
- https://abp.io/docs/latest/tutorials/modular-crm?UI=NG
If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your cooperation.

I am creating a new reusable module using Application Module template and this will be installed to the service in my Microservice Solution.
During development I am using the Single Layer Solution to host all the required modules and the Angular dev-app is configured to use this host application.
This workflow is working in V9.1 but the new dev-app is not working after upgrading to V10.3.
Please advise.

Correct me if I am mistaken, but this DDD module cannot function as a host application on its own. Instead, it is intended to be consumed by a host application.
I also suspect that the application builder migration might lead to a similar issue, so through a different mechanism. Could you confirm whether your problem resembles the one described here?

If your issue appears to be different, please feel free to share a minimal reproducible example via email (sumeyye.kurtulus@volosoft.com) or through any method you prefer.
Thank you for your cooperation.

I suspect the ABP CLI/Studio has code generation issue.
The application module template do create a dev-app host application for Angular project.
However, in v10.3 the dev-app host application is incomplete.
The issue is reproducible by the follow scripts.
v9.1 script
dotnet tool uninstall -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli dotnet tool install -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli --version 0.9.25 dotnet tool list -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli mkdir DddModule910 cd DddModule910 abp new-module DddModule -t module:ddd -u angularv10.3 script
dotnet tool uninstall -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli dotnet tool install -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli --version 2.2.7 dotnet tool list -g Volo.Abp.Studio.Cli mkdir DddModule103 cd DddModule103 abp new-module DddModule -t module:ddd -u angularAttached is the comparison result between DddModule910 and DddModule103 folders.
The DddModule103 missing a lot of files (highlighted in grey) including the entry point app.ts.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. However, this behavior is intentional and based on a design decision for that specific module. Therefore, the files are not actually missing. While we continue to support older versions, newer versions may still be updated according to our roadmap.
If your goal is to use older templates with the latest ABP versions and features, you may encounter compatibility issues. In such cases, the documentation can help guide you through any necessary adjustments: https://abp.io/docs/9.2/get-started
Alternatively, if you are planning to start a new project, you may want to review the latest documentation to find the most suitable template: https://abp.io/docs/latest/get-started#which-startup-template-is-suitable-for-me
