Hi, As we have completed the development. We would like to know the suggested hosting solution for the application. Is it IIS, Tomcat,Apache? Is there a setup guide for us to follow

    • For an ABP Blazor Server application, the typical hosting options are the same as any ASP.NET Core / .NET server app:

      • Windows: IIS (recommended/easiest) or IIS as a reverse proxy to Kestrel.
      • Linux: run the app with Kestrel behind a reverse proxy like Nginx/Apache.
    • Tomcat is not applicable (it’s a Java servlet container, not for .NET apps).

    • Setup guide (ABP official)

      1. Publish your Blazor Server app (Release).
      2. Run your DbMigrator on the target environment (so DB + seed data is ready).
      3. Deploy the published output to the server.
      4. Configure your hosting (IIS site / reverse proxy) and production appsettings.Production.json (connection strings, App:SelfUrl, etc.).
    • Follow ABP’s IIS deployment guide for step-by-step instructions (including common IIS pitfalls like “HTTP Error 500.30”):

    Hi,

An ABP Blazor Server app is a regular ASP.NET Core app, so you host it the same way. Use IIS on Windows. On Linux, run it with Kestrel behind Nginx or Apache. Tomcat is a Java server and doesn't run ASP.NET Core apps.

Here is our IIS guide for Blazor Server. You can switch the ABP version, database and tiered options at the top of the page:

    https://abp.io/docs/latest/solution-templates/layered-web-application/deployment/deployment-iis?UI=BlazorServer

The publish, DbMigrator and appsettings steps in that guide are the same on Linux. For the Nginx or Apache part, follow the Microsoft guide. It covers both:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/blazor/host-and-deploy/server/

Three things to check when you deploy:

    1. Enable WebSockets. On IIS, install the WebSocket Protocol feature. On Nginx or Apache, the proxy has to pass the WebSocket upgrade to the app.
    2. The app needs its OpenIddict certificate file in production. The IIS guide creates authserver.pfx, but the current templates load openiddict.pfx with the password from AuthServer:CertificatePassPhrase. Check the file name your project uses, then make sure that file is in the published folder and the password matches. In a tiered solution that is the AuthServer folder. More details are here:

    https://abp.io/docs/latest/deployment/configuring-openiddict

    1. If Nginx or Apache handles HTTPS and sends plain HTTP to the app, configure forwarded headers in the app and trust your proxy's address:

    https://abp.io/docs/10.7/deployment/forwarded-headers

    Thanks
